Dr Amaryah Paul is a child and adolescent psychiatrist.  She has worked with both adults and children including roles in Royal Hobart Hospital, Hobart CAMHS.  She studied medicine at the University of Melbourne and completed her psychiatric training at Alfred Health, Melbourne.  Since then, she has worked in Melbourne, Canberra, Wollongong, Alice Springs and remote roles in Far North Queensland. 

Amaryah has an interest in psychotherapy, and has completed training in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (the Linehan Institute), Maudsley Family Based Therapy (CEED), and a range of other therapy modalities including psychodynamic psychotherapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, family therapy and infant work during her advanced training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Mindful, Melbourne.   

Amaryah’s expertise includes treatment of a wide range of psychiatric conditions.  She has worked with organic presentations, including schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder, anxiety and depression in both inpatient and outpatient settings.  In her work, she has also had significant experience working with trauma, personality disorders and eating disorders.  She has also worked in an autism diagnostic service and an infant mental health team, though she is not currently offering autism diagnosis. 

Amaryah has also had experience teaching psychiatric trainees and is an accredited supervisor for registrars who are part of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP)
