Leiemma Canty

Leiemma completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at La Trobe University and has almost 30 years of experience working as an Occupational Therapist. She has predominantly worked in the fields of paediatrics, mental health and intellectual disability, within both government and private sectors. Leiemma has worked in a private practice setting for the past 10 years.

Current interest areas include working with individuals aged 2years - young adult, with neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism, ADHD, GDD and intellectual disability, and Developmental Coordination Disorder(DCD). Leiemma also has experience working with individuals with a range of genetic conditions, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder(ARFID), Tourette Syndrome (TS) and a range of mental health issues.

Leiemma has been engaged in post graduate study for the past 10 years and is currently studying for her PhD in the areas of ADHD and DCD, with initial research and first publication completed. She is skilled in the provision of clinical supervision to Occupational Therapists and related allied health disciplines. Leiemma is new to Hobart and is excited for a change of scenery!
